Art tech Task

https://soundcloud.com/user-727064431/the-day-the-crayons-quit

I recorded myself reading a book for my art tech task.
I chose SOUNDCLOUD for my tool. Soundcloud is a recording tool where you can make songs, or record any type of audio. It is the world’s largest music and audio platform. This tool connects with artists directly as well as the ability to share music globally. Students can use this tool in many ways. They can record themselves reading and read along, the teacher can record themselves reading so the students can follow along at home or at school if needed. Students can even make their own music or songs, which they would love to do. Students can easily use this to create their own artifacts. They can record books, themselves, the teacher, a play, etc. It’s easy to use because you just have to push share and record. I would use this because if my struggling readers needed extra help, they could log on and either listen to myself read, or record themselves reading, or even a parent. The options are unlimited, which is why this tool is great.

Studio-Collage

2.RL.7. Use information gained from the illustrations and words in print
or digital text to demonastrat understanding of its characteristics, setting, or plot.
3PR Create artworks based on imagination and observation of familiar objects and scenes
1.1.1. Skills and techniques: Explores the tools and processes of visual arts.

I drew a road from a vantage point, so you could see it in the distance getting smaller and smaller. There were also birds in the distance as well as clouds and then fields that were getting smaller. There was a green and red "stop" and "go" sign. This represents going home and seeing the fields as well as country stop signs, but usually no one else was around so you did not have to stop. I used glue and construction paper. I made the road big at the beginning and smaller towards the top of the page to make it look like it was getting smaller, along with the small birds in the distance. The brown fields were also made to look smaller and smaller. The collage in the right corner was a jumble of every paper used. This was made for the beginning of a story. It represents just getting into town for the start of the story. This is great for 2nd grade because they are starting to understand different points in the story, so they can pick a time and make anything they want from the story, whether it be a quick snapshot or something that reminded them of what was going in at that point in the story. (Which goes along with the standards above). They can use their imagination when reading a story to create a collage from a scene that they remember. Creating a vantage point and making it look like it has dimensions, in my opinion, would be the hardest part for second graders. You have to angle it out to make sure it looks like it is in the distance.

Narrative

When I picture having the perfect day, I picture it at my lake. I start the morning running/walking around the lake either alone or with my mom and dad. I get back and eat breakfast or lunch and start to get ready for the day. While waiting for everyone, we turn on the TV to a music station and we start to get a cooler and snacks ready and head out to the dock and sit out for a while. Once everyone is there, we get on the boat and cruise around the lake for a bit. Finally, we get to the island, which is in the middle of the lake. We find a spot to park at, which is usually the same spot unless it’s a Friday or Saturday and we get out there late and it is super busy.  Once we get there we get about knee deep into the water and walk around for a while. We meet up with friends and talk and hang out. On Saturdays, there is a live band that plays from a boat. They play old songs that everyone knows and we sit on the boat, or in the water listening to them. After about 4 or 5, my family and friends get back on the boat and head back to the dock. We get back to the house and relax and start grilling out and making a ton of food. We sit by the fire and eat and make s’mores and talk until the sun goes down and we head inside to bed.
For my visual part of my narrative, I drew my favorite place- my dock. I wanted to draw the background, because it is full of trees and the water. Mr. Peck gave us an endless about of ways to go about it. One thing I took away was how to use color to show emotions. I chose the light colors because they make me happy and I was writing about my happy place and the perfect day. For my strenghts, I would say how simple it was to come up with an idea and picture that went together. It did not take my long to immediatly start drawing a picture that went with my narrative. The challenging part was making it look like real life. I know I missed quite of few details. I wrote about this because it was the first thing that popped into my head. I have already sort of written about the lake, so I wantedto describe why it was my favorite and what made it the perfect day.
Standard 7 for Kindrgarten -Integration of Knowledge and Ideas 7. With prompting and support, describe the relationship between illustrations and the story in which they appear (e.g., what moment in a story an illustration depicts).
Kindergarten for fine arts- 3PE Describe different ways that an artwork expresses an emotion or mood
Students should be able to look at my artwork and see the relationship from my narrative about the lake and my illustration of the lake. They should also be able to see the colors in my illustration and see that they represent happy emotions or calming emotions.
