When I picture
having the perfect day, I picture it at my lake. I start the morning
running/walking around the lake either alone or with my mom and dad. I get back
and eat breakfast or lunch and start to get ready for the day. While waiting
for everyone, we turn on the TV to a music station and we start to get a cooler
and snacks ready and head out to the dock and sit out for a while. Once
everyone is there, we get on the boat and cruise around the lake for a bit.
Finally, we get to the island, which is in the middle of the lake. We find a
spot to park at, which is usually the same spot unless it’s a Friday or Saturday
and we get out there late and it is super busy. Once we get there we get about knee deep into
the water and walk around for a while. We meet up with friends and talk and
hang out. On Saturdays, there is a live band that plays from a boat. They play
old songs that everyone knows and we sit on the boat, or in the water listening
to them. After about 4 or 5, my family and friends get back on the boat and
head back to the dock. We get back to the house and relax and start grilling
out and making a ton of food. We sit by the fire and eat and make s’mores and talk
until the sun goes down and we head inside to bed.

For my visual part of my narrative, I drew my favorite place- my dock. I wanted to draw the background, because it is full of trees and the water. Mr. Peck gave us an endless about of ways to go about it. One thing I took away was how to use color to show emotions. I chose the light colors because they make me happy and I was writing about my happy place and the perfect day. For my strenghts, I would say how simple it was to come up with an idea and picture that went together. It did not take my long to immediatly start drawing a picture that went with my narrative. The challenging part was making it look like real life. I know I missed quite of few details. I wrote about this because it was the first thing that popped into my head. I have already sort of written about the lake, so I wantedto describe why it was my favorite and what made it the perfect day.

Kindergarten for fine arts- 3PE Describe different ways that an artwork expresses an emotion or mood
Students should be able to look at my artwork and see the relationship from my narrative about the lake and my illustration of the lake. They should also be able to see the colors in my illustration and see that they represent happy emotions or calming emotions.
