Art and creativity is about having endless possibilities and endless ideas, which is the biggest thing I took away from this class. This class showed and allowed us to create whatever we wanted, with basic guidelines as well as standards that each grade level would have. Art is and should be integrated in every subject matter at some point if not everyday. Differentiated instruction should allow for creativity to be used and always be an option if possible. I loved this class because of the freedom of creativity and I learned so much about how I want my future class to be. Below, I created a Bubbl map , for my Summary of Learning, and to talk about each studio I did, and explain the standards each studio had to follow and what the students needed to know at the end. Art standards, I think, are not taken seriously enough, which is why I wanted my summary of learning to be about a standard for each grade. Art standards are looked over and a lot of educators do not take them seriously. I also chose this tool because I love bubble maps and they are easy to follow and go along with. It had a great flow and was so easy to use and make. I plan to integrate art in numerous ways such as providing students with tools, technology, etc. Students are visually literate, so I will always provide an art piece or some visual art aide to help with learning. I will also always have a center for art that will allow them to do whatever they want and make whatever they want in that time.
One of my favorite classes included going to the Center for Autism and to watch a student with autism and his teacher act out different things and plays. I have always been on the shy side, and going there really allowed me to open up, especially getting chosen multiple times to go up and perform different things for my class. Another huge takeaway from this class that I learned:
art should never have any restrictions, especially in school.
